Artist Statement
I am a multidisciplinary artist-poet with a broad creative arts practice; a creative scavenger, always on the alert for materials, ideas, and inspiration, often using scraps of torn or cut magazines, and reclaimed / repurposed street-finds, in this case, a discarded child's notebook, with torn pages, and unco-ordinated felt-pen scribbles. I had nothing to lose! What had been thrown out as rubbish became the starting point, the base of two new creations, with just a hint of the original showing through. Working quickly and intuitively, I trust my hands to the art-making process; drawn to the rhyme and rhythm of colour and pattern to make a form of visual poetry.
