Artist Statement

Chaos and Plasma belong to the series Evolutionary Conditions of Nature, a painterly and intermedia research project that explores nature as a system of relations and transformations. Matter, energy, and perception come into relation, giving rise to unstable configurations shaped by vital tensions and evolutionary possibilities. In Chaos, the work appears as a primordial condition: a dense, intense, and still undetermined nucleus, in which energy is concentrated in a state of singularity. In Plasma, this intensity expands into a more fluid and luminous vibration, as matter moves through states of dissolution, concentration, and reorganization. Together, the two works trace a threshold: from an original flow to the emergence of an open-ended order. Painting becomes a space of contact between natural process, perceptual dimension, and cosmic scale. Chromatic layering, textured surfaces, and gestures suspended between control and impulse make the metamorphosis of matter perceptible as a generative presence.

Leonardo Mancini is an Italian interdisciplinary author whose work develops from a primary impulse into visual works, spatial research, and intermedial forms. He holds a degree in Architecture from the University of Florence and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wales. Since 2013, he has exhibited and published internationally. His practice integrates science and philosophy to explore the underlying structures of existence. The works Plasma and Chaos belong to the series Evolutionary Conditions of Nature, part of an intermedial cycle structured in chapters.
