Whether I am painting, writing, or cooking a good meal, I do it because it makes me feel alive. Curiosity and conversation drive my work; curiosity allows me to be experimental, conversation weaves the work together. In the beginning, I look for the conversation between the colors, shapes and lines, towards the end, I listen for the conversation between me and the painting. I know when a piece is finished when the dialogue makes sense, and the composition lights me up.
