Jenn Powers

Artist Statement
Even as a child, I was enthralled by stories involving transport to fantastical worlds and dimensions, like Star Trek, Alice in Wonderland, and The Wizard of Oz. I was an only child who spent most of my time inside my imagination, and now, as an adult, I am able to transfer this enthusiasm into artwork. In “Departing Atlantis” and “The Unborn Child” I collaged ordinary scenes to create portals: transportation to and from Atlantis by train, and, a sunny realm where unborn children play along the seashore. The imagination is without boundary if you allow it to run free.
